For HR · Quantum 125

Better benefits for your people. Nothing new for HR to run.

Quantum 125 adds supplemental health benefits beside your medical plan. Quantum Health Benefits runs enrollment, employee questions, billing and claims. HR sends one payroll report, attends one kickoff call and keeps its week.

What does HR do in a Quantum 125 rollout?

Send one payroll report, attend one kickoff call, send the employee notice QHB prepares, and add new hires on the usual schedule. QHB's team runs enrollment, opt-outs, employee questions, billing, claims and per-payroll reports. The medical plan, broker and renewal stay as they are.

HR’s part

What lands on HR’s desk, and what does not.

Before you sign
Send one recent payroll report through a secure link. Read the proposal with the owner or CFO. Your CPA reviews the plan document and the payroll instructions.
Kickoff
One call with Quantum Health Benefits’ implementation team: payroll provider, pay frequency, eligibility rules, start date.
Employee notice
QHB prepares the written notice of the plan and the payroll deduction; you send it on your normal channel.
Enrollment
QHB’s enrollment team explains the plan to employees and handles opt-outs. Every eligible employee starts enrolled.
Every pay period
The deduction runs through your payroll. QHB sends payroll and analytics reports.
New hires
Add them on your usual schedule; QHB adds them to the plan.

What Quantum runs

The work a new benefit usually adds, handled.

Every eligible employee starts enrolled, so there is no sign-up campaign to run. Quantum 125 employers typically see 86–92% participation.

  • Plan setup, enrollment materials and the employee notice.
  • Employee questions, billing questions and claims.
  • Payroll and analytics reports every pay period.
  • Software that connects with the major payroll systems.
  • A mobile app where employees reach every benefit.

The timeline

From one payroll report to a plan in place.

  1. Step Phase 01

    Send one payroll report.

A recent payroll export through a secure link. Quantum Health Benefits models the plan employee by employee, and nothing changes on your payroll yet.

  2. Step Phase 02

Read your proposal in 3 to 5 business days.

Person-by-person figures for your company, built from your own payroll, not from an average.

  3. Step Phase 03

Your CPA reviews it before you sign.

The proposal, the Section 125 plan document and the payroll reporting instructions go to your CPA first. Then you sign the two plan agreements.

  4. Step Phase 04

Quantum sets it up and enrolls your team.

QHB works with your HR and payroll and runs enrollment; HR attends one kickoff call. The plan goes in force before your benefits year starts, so the full year counts.

Straight answers

HR questions, answered.

How much of HR’s time does this take?
One kickoff call, the payroll report up front, sending the employee notice, and adding new hires on your usual schedule. QHB’s team runs enrollment, questions, billing and claims.
Does it change our medical plan, broker or renewal?
No. Quantum 125 sits beside the medical plan. The broker stays on the medical placement, and the renewal runs as it does today.
Which payroll systems does it work with?
QHB’s software connects with the major payroll systems. Tell the implementation team which one you run at kickoff.
What do employees receive before it starts?
Written notice of the plan and the payroll deduction, and the chance to opt out. The plan document sets the timing.
What if an employee has questions about a claim?
They go to QHB’s member services and the app, not to HR.
Who reviews the payroll reporting?
Your CPA. QHB provides the plan document and the payroll reporting instructions before anything is signed. Longtable Benefits does not give tax advice.
Who can enroll?
W-2 employees on a regular payroll. Shareholders who own more than 2% of an S corporation, partners and sole proprietors generally cannot take these benefits pre-tax; your CPA confirms.
